Crash Course in Science is an American synthesizer-based band, formed in 1979. The band's early music was characterized by the use of programmed drum machines, synthesizers, and DIY experimentation. Crash Course in Science was influential in the development of the American minimal wave genre. The band's music has been described as minimal post-punk, minimal synth, and coldwave. They released their debut EP "Signals from Pier Thirteen" in 1981, followed by their only full-length album "Near Marineland" in 1983. Despite only releasing a few recordings, Crash Course in Science continues to be a cult favorite among fans of experimental and alternative music.
